Long Island Aquarium questions?

Is it worth the trip? It's about 2hrs 25mins one way. I was thinking about going on Saturday with the wife. She will not be pleased if it's small & not worth it.

Its def worth it check out their website and you can pose with penguins and other animals. The two people that work there Joe and Todd are big time reef tank guys. The large reef they have is a virtual breeding ground for all different fish that they have in it.

They are making major strides in breeding marine ornamentals that dont lay eggs like clownfish. they are collected larve from broadcast spawners and raising them.

How long would you estimate it would take to go through? Trip advisor is not very helpful. Lot of reviews saying it's small & expensive. I was also thinking about going back down to Baltimore Aquarium which I've been too.. Is there anything else to do in the LI area?

Place is great. I have many freinds that work there. If you do go let me know and I'll try to get you a behind the scene's tour. Two of the staff members on speaking at the swap.

Its more in my eye geared towards people who like to dive or are aquarium people.

Its kinda funny you say that about B more, if you go there try Luna Del Sea. I had a meeting at the aquarium down there and me and my wife went stayed in the Hilton across from Camden Yards. Luna Del Sea is expensive but amazing and you have a good chance of seeing a Ravens Player or Orioles or DC United. Thats there hang out.

Yep, 2 of the speakers for our upcoming Frag Swap work there (Justin Credabel and Todd Gardner) so if you go to LIA, you'll have something to talk to them about at the swap. Besides, who could resist that offer from Ed for a behind the scenes tour? :eagerness:

I've been meaning to get up there myself for the past couple years and plan to eventually.

That's awesome!

How long do you think you can spend there? Wife wants to plot what time we should leave so we have enough time.

Honestly If it was me I'd stay the night vs driving out and then back the same day. You have my number let me know when your going and I'll try to hook up the tour.

Unfortunately, we have the rest of our certification for scuba diving in Dutch Springs on Sunday! Her friend might also come with us.
