Looking for a controller

IMHO reef angel controller is the best bang for the buck. 250ish gets you ph ato (minus the pump) temp, 8 outlet block controls LEDs. Just a little of a pain to set up.

I have a reef angel and an apex and they are both very good controllers. What are you looking to controll with it? Do you need remote access, wifi, ethernet? The reef angel is cheaper than the apex but is a little more complicated to program although it has gotten a lot simpler. If you dont mind tinkering a little bit I wouldnt hesistate to get one. I recently switched to apex because I needed an ethernet connection. My setup also made it a little difficult to run a second relay box. Reef Keeper is probably the cheapest option out there, but I believe is much less flexible. If I can get my act together I'll be putting my reef angel up for sale in a few days. ;)

Remote would be nice but not a necessity...looking for a central unit to control the pumps...IM just starting out and I really don't want to buy one now and then have to buy one later

I think the best is somewhat personal. I use the Apex, and have almost a completely automated set up. I still can't figure out how to have it make Saltwater for me. All work, all have extremely successful reefs set up using them and all have people whom have had problems. I went with the Apex do to the support network. I made this choice before Reef Angel was release, but I also see that reef angel requires more set up and understanding of basic coding help (correct me if I'm wrong here). Apex uses very simple sudo-code which is pretty easy to figure out.

Remote to me is key as even in the house, I'm doing everything on my ipad or iphone. I rarely ever touch the main control unit.
