Low PH problem

Sorry, I forgot to asked how often do you replace your Soda Lime?
Thanks in advance.

This will be directly proportional to the amount of CO2 in your household atmosphere, for me one canister would last me about 10 days, which is why I bought it in the larger quatity. The tank was in my foyer, and its just me, Lynn and the dog, so it wasn't a lot of CO2 in my case.

I haven't checked my PH in 10 years and have always run a calcium reactor. People do more damage by chasing this parameter as opposed to just leaving it be. As long as its not extremely low and your ALK and Calcium is stable you will be fine. Best way to raise it is by adding kalk to your top off water, but this will raise your alk so you will have to compensate with the reactor and reduce your bubble count. If everything is happy I wouldnt worry about PH at these levels.

Thanks Jim, in my case maybe it will last less time cause we are 4 peoples and 2 dogs and my tank is in the living room.

Normally I don't bother with PH. But I notice the reading on the Apex pretty much everyday. In my case I think it has more to do with the closed house and filtration in the basement then the calcium reactor though.

Now Darren, I ask you what is extremely low? The last 2 nights hit lows of 7.65.

Good question John and same here, it bothers me seeing on my Reefkeeper a pH 7.89 and in less than 8 hours dropped to pH 7.62.
Yesterday was the first time I've seen my pH at 8.03 but I had all the windows open.

I would say 7 is extremely low. Before I removed my PH probe years ago I was always in the 7.5 range with no issues. Are your corals happy?

I don't know if pH affects the color of the corals but for some reason most of the SPS I got losses color after two or three weeks they are in my tank especially blue or purple colos. I know not enough light also causes corals to lose colors but I don't think this is my case.
