Make up water

This might be a dumb question but how long is my make up water good for
Ex. I have 5, 5 gallon buckets that i fill with ro water and salt 2 weeks before a water change and every couple days I just pick up the bucket and shake it up
So my question is this ok will it become bad after a period of time from just sitting there with no water movement except the shake that I give it every couple days

Once it has been mixed, and assuming it's just RO/DI water and the salt mix, with no organic matter, I think it would last indefinitely.

ro water by itself would be good for a while make sure it is sealed .Ro and salt need temp maintained and a powerhead setup , Make up salt mix when u need it....

Do not know why but thats what I been doing for 10 years and everything looks great after a water change. So if you think do not have to keep it mixing then don't, what ever works for you.

I make a 100G water every week which is used for top off and W/C in the QT tanks. I let it sit longer in rubbermaid brutes at times and it seems OK.

Our top off comes right from RO straight to the sumps with a float valve. So it is always fresh. We have a 55 gallon drum we fill with RO to make up our water change water once the salt is mixed we bring it to temp and keep a powerhead running in it. We usually mix up our salt at a lower salinity because once it goes to temp the salinity will be higher. We don't like to deprive the saltwater from oxygen. We use aquavitro and they advise to use the saltwater up within less then 24 hours. This way nothing is depleted from it.

When I was getting water from trop I used to get (6) 5 gallon jugs at a time and was doing 5 gallon water change a week so I had salt water sit for 6 weeks and never had a problem just make sure you mix it good before use cause there was always some settlement on the bottom of the jugs..
