Marineland 75gal Tank

I'm thinking to take advantage of the up coming $1 per gallon sale from The Hidden Reef to replace my leaking tank, I'm thinking about to drill it on the back glass, supously the bottom glass is the only tempered glass.
Any input will be really appreciated.

I'm believe you are correct Juan. Only bottom glass.

You will love not having the overflows in the tank.

Yeah John that is the idea not to have the big overflow, I'm thinking to install the overflow in the middle of the tank and maybe two returns.

Juan- now having a tank bottom drilled, I would vote for a Reef ready tank as well. Its much cleaner then having an overflow over the back and you can convert it to a herbie for a silent return.

I though your tank was drilled on the upper side and not at the bottom......is the 40B you've gave me loud?

My current tank is drilled on the bottom. The 40b uses the glassholes, and while quiet one can still here the water running. With a siphon based system, is very quiet.

Go Glass-Holes overflow. You need to drill the side glass.....and the kit comes with the drill bit. Here's the 1500 gph overflow with two 1 1/2 inch drains. The 700 kit only has one 1 1/2 inch drain.

Paul I'm thinking to do the same way you have it on your tank but with the 700 gph glass-hole overflows that I have already but I don't have the drilling bit, the only thing is that I don't have any experience drilling a tank, I might practice on an old 29g tank that I have.
