Maxima Clam questions

Well I just came home from school today to find my clam on the sand bed [emoji35]

He was all extended and happy, just sitting sideways on the sand. I put it back where it was before but I think I’ll make a little spot for him later tonight out Of rubble.

Did yours attach yet Dave? Mine obviously hadn’t...

I think he attached, he hasn't moved since the last time I righted him. Honestly, I didn't want to touch him to find out just in case....

Mine has been going to the sandbed also. I put him back on a rock where once he attaches I will move him up. Not the best picture because I don't have patience for pictures ;)

I hear you on the pics. It’s kinda cool we all got these at the meeting. It’ll be cool following them as they grow.

I'm following the progression of these clams also :). Love getting updates on stuff especially from me I like to see them thriving in my customer's tank.

Also I'm curious that everyone are trying to put the clam high up. Imo clams is best viewed from top down, why not just leave it on a flat rock let it attach and bury the rock in the sand bed. That way u can see the clams from sort of from top down.

I have mine on the lowest flat rock in my tank. Allows perfect top down viewing as its slightly tilted towards the front glass.

I agree, with all of us getting them from the same place at the same time it should be really cool to see how they do in each system!

Is your clown still tying to use the hammer as a host?
Sorry to jack this thread a bit but thankfully not. He's still occasionally harassing it but not nearly as bad as yesterday and the hammer was fully extended and happy for most of the day today.

So the clam attached. I know this because I went in to fix it, assuming he was moved again by hermits, to find he had a grip on the rock. It’s kinda hard to see in the pic , but he is positioned between a rock that his flesh is touching, and a bump on the rock he is on behind him. I’m assuming he’d shift as he grew, but the flesh touching the rock (and almost touching those zoas) has to be a problem.

Any ideas? Can he be moved? Alex @OiA was very careful in how he detached him from the glass on the tank. I’m assuming removing from the rock is a bigger issue.
