Maxima Clam

Thinking about getting a Maxima Clam. Would welcome some advice on where to get one around this area for the best chance of survival too. Also anyone have experience with the aquacultured clams from LiveAquaria?

Thanks,
Joe

I would recommend staying away from he French Polynesian ones. The mortality rate on them is really high. I remember seeing a poll on another forum and it showed that the majority of them die.

I would go with one of the ORA clams.

Thanks MatteZ. I remember seeing some clams at tropiqurium and I know they have ORA livestock. Will check with them.

I got a small one from Ocean Aquarium (which was an ORA clam) in Pleasantville. I found out that the young (small) ones need to be feed more then larger ones. Mine lasted a month or so before I lost it. It took me awhile to pick up the right food for him so I just think that were i went wrong. Also may water might not had been perfect for him either. I do want to get another one but I am going to wait. Good luck
