that's great! if they are familiar and friendly with you even better! I have bought a lot of parts from them in the last month like hoses, etc, they are always helpful. What is the name of the lady that manages the store?

i was there earlier. i only trust one of the dudes to make good decisions. he's always given me straight forward answers and if he has to ask he'll ask before giving me a definite answer. THE REALLY TALL GUY.

my son's birthday is at 4:30 but i have to pick up my son's cake at baskin robbin near the little ferry@3>>family owns it love the discounts! free most of the time!

so i'll drop in at 3. i've met most of you and see you there audi0s if you go!

No offense to anybody that goes to the fish tank, they had a major fall and have been doing horrible and there corals and everything there looks bad. Well it is good compared to petco lmao

I totally agree with the Fish tank, I was there early summer and it looked awesome, now its terrible. I think I updated the review I had posted of them...

I believe her names Sue, shes cool. And I cant think of the tall guys name right now. Phil and Bryce are awesome too, they both have convinced me to not buy a product for one reason or another, which is good to see that they wont sell you everything.

thats a shame they used to be a good LFS. This is a public post so I guess they will also never be a sponser especially if they read this.

Most businesses have felt the sting of the poor economy - maybe they just need some time to turn things around- the best thing we can do as hobbyist is continue to support those retailers that provide knowledge, product and make us feel that our business matters-maybe we should do a LFS crawl each weekend to support the LFS even on a small level, maintain or build relationships, even if they are not sponsors now but maybe in the future and meet other hobbyist with the potential or recruiting the types of individuals that make this club great! We all go to LFS a few times a week- doing this in numbers shows support on the global level and makes the club a force that the LFS will take notice

Sorry for the last minute obstacle My water softener busted a leak - I have to go to Sears and get a new one- I will try to get there but my house has no water- i never installed the bypass

There is a new guy who works weekends that is pretty friendly. Not sure what his name is, but I think his Manhattan reef name might be reefer paradise. He is trying to get them more into the frag selling.

Yeah their frags are decent, but nothing compared to Abs Fish. Its a start though. BTW I call the Yasha goby and shrimp pair! I think its time I pull the trigger! Ill probably have on a red Audi Sport North America fleece on, so say hi as well.

So some of us met up at Reef Encounter at 504 Hudson Street in Hackensack….by the way, very easy to get to from all the major routes. We came in off the Turnpike and returned by the Parkway, and very close to route 80, 46 and I think 3.

We missed you RFD4, but Audi0s, evoIX, Rod, BobnKate and I showed up and had a nice talk. Ended up staying until 4:15 or so talking to Mike, the owner, and his wife. I was hoping to see a little bit bigger turnout with folks from the north. I liked this concept of meeting up at a store thought. Other then our fantastic monthly meetings, it is another great way of socializing with our members while showing support for the local fish stores. It would be great to finally convince one of the northern stores to become a sponsor. It would truly be mutually beneficial for both the lfs and our members. Lets hope we can work something out.

Great time by all! The store looks good! The fish were healthy and the tanks clean! They are starting to get into frags and what they had looked very good! Parts galore!!!

Paul thanks for coming and representing the BOD :D

Northern crew...the seed is planted, let's water it and see if it grows!

Rod

Very nice to meet you guys, lets hope that Mike will think about it more now that we showed a little muscle ;D Ill be back on Tuesday for my goby! Lets hope theres one coming in.

Glad it went well - wish I could have made it- thank you though for keeping up with the Idea- maybe if we plan it in advance we can get a bigger turn out- do you think the officers might be into using a LFS to have a guest speaker in the name of NJRC for an unofficial met.

I do have water now- after 6 hours of freaking plumbing-
