Hello NJ Reefers!!!!!!!!!

As the BOD turns its attention to increasing our ranks. I want to ask the community (especially non-paid members and guest) . What would make you jump the fence from a member to a paid/contributing member to our site? Nothing is out of bounds and everything will be entertained....

We will keep a close eye on this thread and will use it to formulate our strategy for the next few months that will again focus on bringing on more paid members.

Please note any personal attacks or non-contributory post will be removed. The BOD wants to maintain a nice clean constructive dialogue

You may want to explain what does becoming a "paid member" means and why should anyone do that.

I am pretty sure "bots" that scan these forums count as "views". I may not be correct on that. This is my first time seeing this thread.

Question: I believe the meetings are open to all folks right? member or not?
Also is the raffle open to all members? Is there a difference in cost for members vs non in raffle? it's been a while since I went to a meeting.

Hey guys here’s my ¢2 nice and brief,
1) cool t-shirt or gear(hat, backpack etc.)
2)group buys
3) frag swap(admission less than non-members/non-paying)
4) maybe discounts with stores(already got my usual LFS for dry goods)
5)maybe collaborated events with other local fish clubs( I.e NJAS, MR)

Though it’s not a deciding factor I think NJRC needs a little bit more marketing/PR. maybe fliers/cards at LFS, or “FaceTime” at other events reefapalooza/CT frag market maybe even helping local LFS with there own Events/Sale or working with charity groups like hackensack river keepers. I hope my comments don’t come off as agressive or negative, but I see great potential for this club.

I agree about the potential and will be joining as a paid member to show my support-the community itself is worth it. I’ve really just been waiting to make it to my first meeting. So far I either haven’t been free or they’ve been far enough to be prohibitive time-wise.

Store discounts would be beneficial, swaps would be great. Connecting with local reefers is the big draw for me, and that’s happening-and will more so when I can get to the meetings.

So far as gear, if that’s a route worth going, a car magnet with a logo would get the name of the club out there.

I agree with Haus regarding draw. Maybe showcasing how we support each other and putting it on FB, Instagram, etc. will get people's attention. Maybe this Saturday with everyone helping Sunny could be a good spotlight item. I can try and take a few pics this weekend.

As for perks I think an insulated frag bag would be best with NJRC log on the side.
