Merry Christmas to me!! A nuked tank!!

So I got to the house on Christmas morning and everything in the tank was dead!! Everyone was fine on Sunday and Monday so sometime overnight something happened and all my fish of 5+ years....GONE!! It was a fantastic Christmas morning for me!!! So depressing!!

That is terrible news, especially after all you have been through with the tanks.

Any idea what might have caused it?

Horrible news, This is all to common lately. This is the 4th or 5th take in the last week or two that is have a crash of some kind. Im wondering if there is a commonality between them.

Brian...I have no clue!! And testing the water would have been useless as they had already started to decay.

It was so depressing walking into the basement today to work and there being nothing left. No fish swimming, no lights glaring, no sounds of water, no VorTech noise....no nothing. Very Very depressing!

That STINKS!!! Did you have any guests or anyhting over that could of done something on accident? It just sounds so sudden... I know I used to catch my kids sticking their hands in the tank all the time.

Paul...too late. The entire tank has been ripped down.

A bright side is I can now concentrate on getting my 180 back up and running and start over.

Ugh, sorry to hear that Steve. You've been thru enough already so this must have been really tough to deal with.

Let me know when you get the 180 going and I'll try to help stock it with some corals.

You do want to check your equipment for stray voltage before you reset. All overnight is drastic. Electricity is one of the few things I could come up with that could do that. Or a heater but you had good water temp.....

sorry to hear that, I had a semi tank crash myself a week back. not the best feeling in the world, i eventually lost all my sps corals. good luck with the 180 build!

Sorry to hear about your loss. When you are set up again, I would be happy to donate stuff from my tank. I live in Montville, close by.
