Sid has asked me to announce that he needs to step down from his position on the BOD.
Many of us around here are good friends with Sid and may have realized that he has been absent on the boards for a couple of months. I attempted to contact him numerous times throughout that period and we could never connect for one reason or another. We both were finally able to actually sit and chat yesterday when he asked me to relay a message to the BOD and all of our members. He has been having a very rough time with many problems in his life lately. He has been very sick and also having problems with his heart. Doctor visits, medications and even his recent hospital stay has kept him from the forum. He has been told by the doctors to take it real easy and they have banned him from lifting more than ten pounds. Anybody that knows Sid, knows him enough to realize that not being able to pick up his daughter will bother him a lot. And unfortunately (since that wasn't enough to deal with) his dog passed away last week (I think he said the dog was 10 yrs old) and his house was robbed in between all of this.
He sounded pretty good considering all he told me. He was able to brag about the fact that he has quit smoking for one month now and we laughed about the fact that HE had to be the one to track down the person who robbed his house. For those of you who know him, you can appreciate those two points that he made and can probably see his smile telling the story.
Because of all of this chaos in his life and a long road to recovery Sid asked me to announce that he has to step down from his director's position on the BOD.
Before I get stoned from people here for giving too much detail of his problems, I need to let you know that when I asked what he wanted me to say, his words were "you know me, I am pretty open and tell it like it is, tell them everything."
I am sorry to hear that he has had so many problems and he needs to step down. I'm sure this is only a temporary thing and he will be back on the forums and doing what he does best by making those LONG journeys across NJ as soon as life settles down for him! Until then I would like to wish him a speedy recovery and Good luck to him and his family.
