Today one of my MH pendats wasnt lit when I got home. I checked all connections and everything was good, checked the ballast and it was cold. I unplugged it from my power strip and when I plugged it back in the bulb fired, started to go and withing 5second it went off. I waited 15min again to let the ballast chill and plugged it in only to get the same response. These are lumenarc pendants with reeflux 20k bulbs that are maybe 3-4months old. Does it sound like the bulb or the ballast? The ballast is a little over a year old Ice Cap 250w

Do you have another bulb you can try firing? I'm leaning towards ballast or wiring. Also, you may want to PM the icecap folks or start a thread in their sponsor section to get their input as well.

could be either really. I would talk to Chris first. I think they have a short circuit protection of some sort, so if they sense a failure of a component in the ballast or bulbs they shutdown. I could be totally wrong though but it just sounds like the ballast is shutting down and theres gotta be a reason
