As some of you may know, one of our fellow club members Scott @scott021467 has his own youtube channel called "Rosco's Reef with Scott Rosco's Reef with Scott. He is nearing 1,100 subscribers which mostly are from Nj and his channel following is growing at a steady rate.

The BOD and Scott are looking for fellow club members, who will agree to allow him to film (on camera with audio) their tank(s) along with a small bio and their tanks history.

This will do 2 things:
1. it will showcase our NJRC member tanks to the masses on Reef Keeping Forums & on social media, thus helping to promote out club's site
2. will allow Scott to run more videos, gain more of a subscriber following, which will lead back to #1

In May, I am up for the monthly club meeting and i have already spoken to Scott about shooting my tank for that month but would somebody be willing to get this jump started in April? More or less towards the end of it if possible....i know its short notice but i want to get this started sooner than later. If not April, let me know what month you would be willing to do.

There is poll listed....please participate so that i can gauge how many willing participants we will have or how many we don't have. There is no preference in tank size....from 600 gal to 10 gal all are welcome.

If seriously interested, reach out to me and we can go from there

If I might suggest. This is great. Perhaps we can run this into an episodic thing?
Run a 15-30 minute show?
Maybe do it at each meeting so we can cover very young tanks to mature tanks?
Even young tanks are worthwhile. Type of rock, concerns with cycles, learning lighting, etc.
Interview for a few minutes on how they started.
Talk about initial pitfalls and disappointments.
Interview about feeding habits - how much, how often, what type.
Go behind scenes and show the plumbing with description of how its set up.
Show dosers, water changing systems, frag tanks plumbed in, etc.
Ask how they learned about how to light, how much to feed, problems and solutions with algae, parasites, etc.
Basically a noobs to pro episode, or a noobs to still learning noobs episode.
Every few episodes we show something like Sunny's, Paul's , Mike/Nikki's, and other tanks worthy of worship with their stories.
At the end of the season, we have the big fight with the dragon zombies.

I found that anything from 10-15 minutes is the longest video that will hold people's attention on YouTube. Most definitely the episodes will show different tanks, setups and methods of running a successful tank of any size. Also showing what the club has to offer to members while encouraging non members to join. That's my thoughts on it but I am always flexible. This series would be a featured series on my channel and could run once or twice a month. The selection process I am also open to.

should i post this on R2R and the other sites?

Its not the tank, its the acrobatic abilities needed to get to the tank. It wouldn't be the best environment for a film, but hopeful Ill be able to finish my projects and get my basement cleaned and then im up for a progress segments. I currently only have a FOWLER, but im hoping a new set of LED's are in the cards as birthday present in May. Maybe if I get my basement ready we can do an episode of my installing and setting up my lights on my tank and then another one in the fall to see what I have accomplished over the summer.
