MP40 Issue

Anyone else see this problem with their Ecotech MP40’s? I am doing my quarterly cleaning of the MP40’s, and when I take one apart I find a small sliver of plastic broken off the Wet Frame. This is the second time I’ve had this issue. You can see the finger-nail shaped piece of plastic to the left, and where it broke off in the hole in the middle of the Wet Frame.

For a temporary fix I’ll epoxy the small piece back, and consider ordering a replacement Wet Frame from Ecotech.

Epoxied in the broken piece. When the epoxy cures, I’ll sand off that excess you see to make it nice and smooth. This might work! Love that JB-Weld Epoxy. With a little extra left over, I fragged the Bird’s Nest…..And my wife says I get nothing done during the day! Now where are the Bon Bon’s?…my favorite Soap is on in a couple minutes.

Edwin, if this doesn’t work, we’ll split the shipping on ordering new Wet Frames from Ecotech. Also, if you have the pieces, drop them off and I'll epoxy it up for you.

Have you tried calling ecotech first? I had bought a used mp40 before off another forum and when it arrived I found it to be really noisy. I sent it to Ecotech and they replaced multiple messed up parts, cleaned it up, and sent it back all for the price of postage. I was surprised since this was for a used pump with no receipt and I had included all my CC info expecting to be charged. Might be worth a call first if you haven't tried yet

Paul,
yes - this happened to one of my pump...
i end up trying to find a substitute stuff to put on... but it did not end good...
after Bob (magic) told me to check out their website... there they are...
they have replacement parts and the price is quite good!! (the whole bottom place for you is $10)
I don't remember how much they charged for shipping... i vaguely recall it is very reasonable too.

i got some parts from them and they are running good since!!

they are NOT too obvious to find in their website... here is the info:
Store
» Replacement Parts » MP20/40 Parts

Surprisingly the epoxy didn’t hold. Maybe because it was just too small a piece. I’ve now applied a slug of super glue (cyanoacrylate), but I’m not overly optimistic. David, thanks for the info about parts….I had already looked it up…$10 for the Wet Frame plus $7.95 shipping.

Edwin, sounds good….that changes the total price for this Wet Frame from $18 to $14 each…..sounds a little better for this 50-cent piece of plastic..

Before I order, does anyone else need any Ecotech parts? We’ll split the shipping based on percentage of $$ ordered. Let me know ASAP.

I placed the order with Ecotech yesterday for a new Wet Frame. I don’t know why, but for some reason I thought they were out in California. The item was shipped from…..Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and is now in my local FedEx facility, planned to be delivered Monday. Wow! Was that quick!
