Sorry, I can't help you because our pH is notoriously low too. Welcome to the forum, though.

Actually, I looked at my test strips and they do have an Alkalinity test and it's in the ideal range. Although my LFS guy tested my water for me and said my calcium levels were high.

Thanks Hawkeye. I will have to find a good drop test, my marine test kit only tests for PH, nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia. My buddy at the LFS usually tests my samples for other stuff for me like calcium and phosphates, have to see if he has Alk. drop test. Thanks again.

actually with a 12 gallon tank i would just do water changes rather than mess with any additional buffers etc. But that's just my 2 cents. I've never run a small salt tank before (although back in 1989 I had a 29 gallon...that was not fun).

lenny looks like a scooter blenny - does the blenny eat fish food? It looks thin to me...i was thinking that thoes type of fish (like mandarins) typically eat live pods, which can get scare in a 12 gallon.

Good luck. Tell brian, meg and the rest of the gang to stay out of my tv. ;D

Yeah he is skinny. Believe it or not he was skinnier at LFS where I bought him with the firefish. He has been eating brine and picking at zooplex when I add it. Can you get copepods in a solution or frozen? I added some turtle grass figuring that might help retain some pod life, but I doubt it will work.
