My bicolor pseudochromis is picking up sand......

And dropping all over my rocks and corals..I have had this fish for 8 months and it just started doing it... Is this normal ???

My maroon clown does this as well. She spends a lot of time cleaning her nesting zone (and then not producing. What's up with that)!

Not only that she is messing up the AC 110 filter impeller with the sand.. I can hear the sand getting sucked up even from down stairs .. Makes me cringe every time :'( I guess I should start looking for a pre filter

I know how upsetting this can be. I have a pistol shrimp and a watchman goby that do the same thing. I put anything on the sand and they come by and either bury it or somehow take it and put it under my rocks where I cant get to it. I wish I could get them out of my system but it is almost impossible without breaking it all down...
