Yes, I checked the overflow and all around the tank including the floor. This is fish #5 lost.Yes to the lobster. Shouldn't be the serpent star(if a brittle sea star than yes to that one too).

I would say the star I had first hand experience with one get rid of it...
I think I will do some night hunting before I remove anything. It is possible I have something else in the tank lurking about. What a PITA.I agree with Mike. I have two huge brittle stars in my tank and never had a problem with them. We did have fish disappearing for a while, though. One night, after lights out, I was looking in the rock work with a flashlight and saw a hairy gorilla crab with an anthias it's claws. I skewered that b*stard right away and hauled it out. It was only the size of a quarter but it was a killer. I lost quite a few nice size fish. After we got him out, we never lost another fish . . . . Well, that's not completely true but at least they weren't disappearing mysteriously. I would go with either the lobster or an unwanted hitchhiking crab.
