Oh. One more thing I plan on spray painting the clear acrylic. Is it the Krylon for plastic is the safe one?

I heard there was a fish safe spray paint (Krylon is it I believe) but if you look it up they claim its not. Now that could be them covering their butt in the chance something bad happens. I would like to hear what others say cause I would like to paint PVC but want it not to cause an issue in my tank.

Thats my concern as well. I just can't find that video where this guy painted his tank and claimed as long as it dries well it's reef safe. I figured someone in here as heard of it. I just bought a can today. I will post a pic soon.

Krylon for Plastic is fine - just make sure to let is dry and cure long enough before introducing it. i'd say 72 hours.
Will this be fine?

Lol as I was considering if that paint would work well pn a jeep i'm rebuilding. They could brand it as reef and jeep safe.
Ive built a few sumps and have always used Krylon, but thats not ro say other paint isnt safe, its just that at some point someone said Krylon worked and we all fell in line.
And it does seem to work.
Rustoleum has rust inhibitors in it and often has a primer mixed in as well. I dont know if these are safe for reef as Im one of the drones that sticks to the known as I want as minimal risk to my tank as possible.
Regardless of what you use the most important factor is drying and curing time. Once fully cured the chance of leeching is greatly diminished. As ITz mentioned, wait at least 72 hours before assembly, I've always given parts that are coming into contact woth water 5-7 days.

I concur. It will be well over 7 days before it sees water. This is a second tank that I repaired due to a broken side. Tank is brand new. So I took advantage of the acrylic side I'm adding and figured to drill it and add a flow box. Which I already built. It actually came out pretty nice for my first time diy. Waiting on bulkheads to come in and I should be ready to assemble it.

I am excited to see this progress. You sir are the king of DIY in my book! If i was to make my own acrylic overflow box it would probably just result in boots of $$$ spent on tools and parts and hospital bills with nothing to show for it but bad memories.

well Sir I thank you for your compliments. My girl thinks I'm being cheap but if I have this stuff laying around I like to put it to good use. Hopefully this thank will come together in a few days.

Hello Guys and Gals, I have put together a DIY project video for the ZEOVIT reactor. Good or bad would love to hear your comments.
For my new tank I think I will be going with the ZEOVIT system. I have the time and extra parts so here goes. All I have to save for is the "little blue bottles"
Please enjoy!

I dig it, Ru going to run zeovit on your system? It's one.of those things that I have " seen on TV " but seems too pricey for me to run

Can you do a "mock install" so we.can see how it would look?

@trio91 I wanted to try Zeovit on my second tank. I figured I had 75% of the equipment already so all I would have to invest is the Liquids itself. To start It would cost about $100. for the initial setup. The rest of the liquids are just fufu and not necessarily needed. I mean I will be running a 25 gallon I could only load it so much.
This afternoon I also finished building the fuge. That cost me $27. The reactor parts cost me $22. I want to see for myself what all the hype is about Zeovit! After all I don't have an APEX, like you do! lol
I guess I'll just have to wait for @njtiger24 to start making prototypes of his automated system.
What did you mean by mock install? where you referring to the rector? If so, I guess I can run water through it with some rocks and see how it will run.
