My Koi pond I made

Thats really cool. watch out for egrets and stuff, the motion activated water shooter is a good move. If your down by the shore there is a nursery on Sea Girt blv. 08736, that's getting out of Koi Pond stuff. Has hardware and live stock, he told me on the side.

I second that on the egrets, here in Jackson we have a grey heron that is wrecking havok on ponds...Best of luck on the pond, great job...(plays song in background) "Here's to you Mr Pond builder bud man"...lol

joltin joe has left and gone away...hey hey hey.

that is a really cool pond. How long did it take to put that all together? Seems like a lot of care/maintenance.

Very nice. How deep is the deepest spot in the pond?

I have been told that if you put a fake heron up the real ones will stay away. They are supposed to be very territorial.

I started building the pond on April 07, it took me about 2 or 3 days to dig out the hole by hand & about 2wks to finish it. The maintenance is not that much. I have a uv light so it keeps the water nice & clear. I clean the filter pads about every 1-1/2 to 2 months & takes about 10 min to clean. I usally have a net over it in spring & fall for the leaves. In the winter the pond freezes over when its cold except where the heaters at, there's a round opening on the ice. The fish hybernate during the winter & haven't had any die-offs also.

The deepest spot is about 4 ft deep. I haven't had any heron or seen them around but if they do come my dog will chase them away if he doesn't get them first, lol. I once had 2 mallard ducks land on my pool last year for about 5 min but not on my pond.
