Natural Gas Generator

My next-door neighbor owns a bar/restaurant and is considering putting in a natural gas generator with a transfer switch. I know some of you folks have done the same for your tanks/house.

Who does this kind of thing? Any recommendations on the contractors who do this would be appreciated.

Go to generac site and look for their contractors. I used one from East Brunswick.

Lowes and Home Depot both offer the installation service. I looked into it. Its about $1,200 for a 7,000 btu generator and about the same amount again for installation.
Just be warned. There's always a long waiting list after a big storm.

EMR Power Systems has taken care of my 50 kW gas generator for years at work. Hammer Electric does a wonderful job installing them as well. I use them for all of my electrical issues at work and they are the best! They just installed 614 solar panels for me at work.

Stay away from the Generac Lowe's or the Home Depot sell. Highly suggest a "Kohler". Cooper Electric in Neptune did mine. Service contract is expensive... 2 visits a year, oil change and checkup in Spring and then another oil change, tune up and check up in Fall in and around $700.00 per year.
