Due to all the tanks I have down here my basement is hot you know what. I need a good AC guy to take a look and give me some options.

I have central air and it only has a return on the top floor, but my tank is on the first floor, which is always warmer and more humid. Is it possible to add a small return to the first floor?

You can run flex duct into the fishroom and add a difuser in the ceiling that should help you out

I had an Air Quality guy come here today. He is telling me I need a another Dehumidifier first then maybe an AC unit. Can anyone recommend a dehumidifier? Here is the one I currently have. http://www.thermastor.com/Santa-Fe-Rx/ Large Capacity: This large capacity dehumidifier removes up to 74 pints of water per day—enough water removal capacity for areas up to 2200 square feet.

I thought that this would be enough but I think I'm putting about 15 to 20 gallons of water in the air. Any calculators out there that tell you how much water evaporates in a day on about 500 gallons of tanks?

How much are you topping off per day? That's how much is going into the air from your tank. Then there's the "It's a basement and is likely to be damp to begin with" beyond that.

This was a concern of mine and why I was thinking of doing a closed sump and a small refugium/filtration tank. Are you covering any of your tanks/sumps in the basement?
