need help in finding plumping part

I have deltec skimmer and the pump on the skimmer just gone south last night. I am looking for plumbping part that compatible with the currently grey color plumbing parts on the skimmer body in adapting a different pump to use with the skimmer.
The schedule 40 (white pvc stuff from home depot) is not fit. i don't know what type of those gray color one. are they schedule 80 or what? please help in ID those parts.

Grey PVC is schedule 80 however, it sounds like the same problem I have with my reef oct skimmer, the parts and fittings they use are metric.

I am turning down a schedule 80 Inch fitting at work down to the correct metric fitting size to work with the skimmer.

Only $4 for schedule 80? You must have just bought a coupling or something simple. Price out unions or bulkheads in schedule 80 and you’ll need to take out a second mortgage.

For the life of me, I could never understand companies or aquarists who use schedule 80 fittings. This is overkill to the nth degree! Schedule 40 is overkill. We have non-pressurized systems (except you basement folks). Schedule 10 pipe and fittings would work just fine, except you’d probably pay a premium because it’s harder to get.

I’d love to work for one of these lamebrain companies that was using schedule 80. I’d submit a cost savings suggestion to switch to schedule 40, and win employee of the year!

Yep $4 for just a 1-1/4" coupling. Got a S-80 cap and short 8" section of pipe. They wanted $15 for a 1.5" T-fitting and that is where I drew the line. Got a 1.5" S-40 T-fitting for $2!

You’ve raised an interesting point about schedule 40 and schedule 80….the OD on both pipes are the same, so schedule 40 fittings will work with schedule 80 pipe and vice versa. It’s the ID that gets small as the “schedule” increases.

i manage to get to lowes and can not find anytihng (schedule 80 ) that work with the threads on the deltec. I bought stuff from schedule 40 and see how it work tomorrow. the tank runs without skimmer for 3 days. hope this would be fine for the livestock or I will be a lifestock in my wife human soup in near future when all the fishes perish

i work for a plumbing supply house and can locate tons of different types of fittings... but google searches can find absolutely anything
