Maybe...I just looked it up but may not be 100% sure

Okay. Just pulled this off a rock. It's all one piece.

No clue dude, sorry man

I'd just manually remove it being that it came off cleanly. Looks like a type of kelp or something. Are fish eating it?

Hi Kshweer.

That looks pretty close. Now, how do I eliminate it.
I do weekly water changes. My parameters look good. I give about 7 hours of lights.
I pulled all of it off the rocks last weekend, but they are back.
My tank is very young and this could also be part of the reason that I'm getting this algae.

No Trio. My Tang doesn't even look at it. I also have a green emerald crab that doesn't show any interest.

To be honest I have never had to deal with it in a DT. I would suggest manual removal first, then scrub the areas with a toothbrush or similar, while keeping your nutrients low.

I had some in my tank on a frag, it lasted about a week. In all honestly i'd like to grow some out and use it to feed my tangs every now and then.

Maybe he just hasn't found it yet, how long has the algae been in there that you are aware of? I agree with kevin, the best way is to remove and scrub it, you can soak the area in hydrogen peroxide as well out of the water for a few minutes if that is an option, that will kill it off.

The algae appeared about 1 week ago.
Removing the rock for scrubbing isn't an option as I have a few coral pieces epoxied to the rock.
