Need to find a way to lock cabinet doors on a 125 asap

Well my 1 year old refuses to leave the doors alone on the new 125.

She got in there tonight while I was at work and was playing in the sump....course its my fault cause I am supposed to work and keep an eye on her at the same time

So now I need a way to keep the 3 doors locked without damaging the front visible part of stand in any way. The normal clip cabinet locks wont work cause there is nothing to mount the back part to. I had a magnetic setup on my old tank but if she tried she could get into that too.

Anything anyone could suggest would be a big help to say the least.

Theres dozens of child lock gadgets out there for cabinet doors. KMart or someplace like that has them in the baby dept.

This is what we have.....they suck to say the least

Have you tried THESE? We used them when our kids were young and found them to be pretty effective. The nice thing is they don't mar the front of the door (provided you don't drill too deep :-X been there, done that!)

We havent tried those yet John.... but at this point anything is worth a shot.

Off to the hardware store in the morning

I'm not sure if you'll find them at a hardware store. I know they have them at Toys/Babies R Us and probably Target and WalMart, though. Good luck with them!

I think they have them at Home Depot or Lowes. There is a Walmart next door to both of them near me so I should be able to find them between the 3 places.

How about just placing something heavy in front of them that she cant move till she gets a little older and understands. this way no need to purchase anything and you wont bother the look or scratch the front of the cabinet. Full bucket of salt might do the trick. then move it when your home and or having company.

My wife wants them locked.....no if and or buts about it.

Its the main focal point of the living room and piling heavy stuff in front of it is not an option.

Besides my little one loves to shove things.... this morning she was shoving a large 160+ count box of diapers with a case of 512 baby wipes on top of it around the living room like it was nothing.

She was headed for the 28lb kitty litter container to shove it around next. I was bringing in the stuff I had gotten at BJ's.

She gets into everything....likes to "Help Daddy" with whatever I am doing

Order them online if you need to. In the meantime, use a shoelace or rope and tie a knot to keep them closed.

I wish she could move the couch..... I need to move that stupid thing now that the tank is in and it weighs a ton.

Its a 3 seater with a recliner on each end

problem solved....those locks work like a charm John and you cant see that they are even there.

The hard part is getting the magnet to hit the mechanism on the 1st try....guess it gets better with use

But hey the wife is happy and there are no more little fingers under the tank so all is good

Ive used "Tot Lok" from Safety1st www.safety1st.com. Its a magnetic key lock system that has no handles. It works great with fish tank stand doors, and invisible too. I keep the key on my fridge. It also can be disabled, unlike plastic clips.

We used the tot locks this time.....found them at Lowes....was $20 for a pack of 4

Work good but the magnet they give you is too small.

Am using the back magnet of a Korlia powerhead that I am not using.....works good.

Am gonna see if I have an outside of the glass part of a mag float laying around.....that would work really good.

Fun with magnets.....keeps me busy for hrs ;D

I had this same problem with my girlfriends son when he was younger,I used duct tape.......... not for the stand but for him ;D
