Neozeo

Its time once again to change my filter media I was thing of trying brightwells neozeo method. i was looking at it and it seems like it does what a refuium does. I already have one on my tank . do you guys think it is stupid to try neozeo out. Thanks Bill

I have all the produts and ready to go but I'm now undecided. I've been using some of the additives but the rocks are still in the boxes.
seems to me the rocks pull everything out then you have to add it back???
I don,t think its stupid to try anything you can ultimatly control.
you can always stop using it.

Yeahyour right I started using it to day. I guess we will see how it goes I 'm already using brightwells pot, vit, coral amio, stroutium, reff bio fuel, whats one other product

You need to pick up Microbacter7 also. That's a must with the rocks (along with Reef Bio Fuel, which you already have).

Add Koral Kolor, too, IMO, and their Vitamin C and M. Those will help a lot. But I would absolutely pick up at least Microbacter7.

Jonathon according to brightwell using all those at once will creat a hell of a algae bloom . I called and spoke to him about changing over to the full brightwell system . I was advised because I am dosing amino's and trace to not stop with them , but to cut back some . A sudden stop will really hurt/shock your corals. It was then suggested that I start with the rocks and bac at half the dosage and slowly build up to full dosing as long as no ill effects . Then after weening off my supps to start with theres.
According to there directions at first its just rocks, bac and fuel . Increasing eavh week untill the right dosage for your system is achieved After that you decide your supplements but the combination is added as a whole when it comes to dosing. If its less say 10 is recommended dosing for your system ,its not 10 of each supplement but a total adding up to 10.
I would suggest reading the pdf file and starting slow, any questions can be answeres by calling them.

I ordered the Brightwell products a few days ago and will start maybe next week. The one thing I did not ordered was the rocks. I am going to try it with out it.

Today I'm starting with bac7 and biofuel. We should start a thread just dedicated to brightwell "neozeo method, I wish I had a better camera so I could take before and after pictures.

I have been only checking the normal levels I guess in this method I should be checking mag k and strotium and thing else really. What test kits does every one use.

The big 3 are rocks, Bac7 and Bio Fuel. After that, you can start moving into other things. I was just pointing out what else could be used as well and what I would say to use.

Here is what I use for my 39G:

200g Rocks

8 drops Amino Acids per day
10 drops Koral Kolor per day (just started)
5mL Bio Fuel per day
2 drops Microbacter7 per day
4 drops Vitamin C per day
4 drops Vitamarin M per day
3mL Potassion per day

2-part whenever needed (usually a bit every other day)

Supplement Brightwell Magnesium powder when needed as well.

It's different for every system, so don't use mine as a benchmark.

Well, I do have one on the Advanced Discussion board dedicated to who is using NeoZeo or Zeovit. There is a decent amount of info posted there now.

Be tough, man. Do the rocks. You won't regret it. Stan and I are always on Steve Pnoy to do the rocks. You need to do them!

Jonathon, I figured you were just telling him what was available but didnt want to see him get a bloom .
Now onto your system . When you started to use the rocks did you get any bloom, any drop in coral colors or any other negatives ? If so what and how long did it last .
Also do you have a before and after or even a recent photo . I was as always impressed with Steve's tank and never did get to ask him why he doesnt use the rocks ?
How and where do you run the rocks ?
How long did you wait before you started to add the other sup's(amino,potas,etc..)?

I have all the products sitting there, I just cant pull the trigger but will very soon .
I am scared of messing with what is working but I know I am not getting everything from what I am doing now .
I just figure once I get it switched over and doses figured out it will actually be simpler than the guess work I am doing now .

Thanks paul

Had a very small cyano bloom that went away in a week or so. That was about it, but I was also using tap water still at the time so it could very well have not happened if I was using RO/DI water.

Not a single other negative. No coral color drops or anything. I had a frag of a wild colony RTN, but I tend to think it was going to happen either way. Eventually grew back, though.

Hey so I done 1 week using the brightwell system. I'm using the pot, trace elements , coral amino, coral color, rocks iodine, calcium, biofuel, and mico bactor I'm sure theres soemthign else. I was using the products for a a few months but just started using the rocks. Its only a week but it seems like i'm haveing more alge growth than normal did any one else have this problem. I also have a refugium on the tank I thought I would have next to no growth

Yeah, that's normal to start out.

Will go away soon, though.
