Neptune system breakout box

Am I limited to just float switches ,limit switches. Can i control each of the ,what looks like four power sources separate. I'm thinking of using it to run 12v cooling fans is anyone else out their doing this. Pics of your breakout box mods would be awesome thanks. Haven't bought one yet so if someone has one laying around let me know thanks

The breakout box can't power anything. All it does is detect whether a circuit is complete (switch closed).

Very easy to make one. At a fraction of the cost but if your like me, and to lazy buying is faster. A ton of dyi on the internet.

Thanks for the replies. Looks likes I'm buying another energy bar8. What crafty ideas have you guys come up with for the BOB

Float switch in skimmer waste container to sense if its full, then power off skimmer, email alert me. You can also use it for lighting, like sensing the cabinet doors are open to turn on lights, custom ATO, etc etc.

I have a Water bug connected to mine to throw an alarm/email when water is sensed below the sump. This way if the sump ever leaks everything gets shut off.

I also connected float switches to my ATO container to automatically fill it (Tunze ATO in use). I use a 2 gallon container (to prevent over filling with RO) and sensors to trigger a solenoid which will open and close when the water level gets low. There is also a high level safety one which is connected to a pump->hose to drain, where if something on the solenoid fails to close, the pump will turn on and push water out of the ATO container.

My RO Unit is also connected to a heavy duty Solenoid to turn on and off the supply of water to the unit, this saves it from triggering on and off which I have read reduces the life of DI.

It is possible to control a Nest thermostat via an unpublished API, but you would need an intermediate system to monitor the Apex and control the Nest.

I never looked into trying to zoning the Nest's. But if you could create a separate zone you should be able to use the Apex or other controller as your thermostat and have it kick the ac/heat on or off that way. Only thing is the BOB is only good for 5V? Not sure on that but most thermostats are 24V.

Well I ordered the breakout box and an additional eb8 should be here Wednesday then it's on the the task of rewriting the whole tank woohoo ugh a/c adapters wires plugs hoses never enough room
