New 90 Gallon Reef setup. - Going to need alot of advice.

So... I was wondering what do you guys do when some of your stock just disappears?
ex... I had two peppermint shrimp... I had the copper issue and 1 died and his body was actually stuck to a filter... the other survived a long time... I would see him peek out of under some rocks every couple of days during feeding or at night I would see him out on the sand... but then for over two weeks now... I haven't seen him... I don't have enough crabs to devour him to the point I don't see shell, legs, something... then I lost a chromis... again... I had 8 then this morning 7... I've checked all through the rocks with a flashlight and cannot see anything... I fed a cube and everyone came out today and was participating in the eating... but no chromis..
Do you guys move your rocks when looking for missing stock or just let it be... maybe they died inside a whole in a rock and are now decomposing in there?

BTW- Is this normal... my 6 line wrasse doesn't like the snails on the glass... if they're on the rocks its okay but as soon as they start climbing the glass... he watches them then nudges them off the glass... he's not biting or trying to eat them... once they fall he just swims away... even if they land upside down with their bodies exposed... so he's not trying to eat them... is that the weirdest thing?
Thanks.

I have had stuff disappear for months. I have a cucumber that I didn't see for literally six months now I have seen it a bunch of times in the last month. I had a yellow assessor that I thought died and one day after like a month I see him swimming out eating???? I also have a peppermint shrimp that I see during the full moon when she comes out to dance under the moonlight. Obviously if you find the dead remains remove them, but don't go out of your way. I use a turkey baster to blast the rocks once in a while, this might dislodge a dead critter.

Weird timing but the wrasse strikes again... I see him darting partially on and out of a whole then finally after a while I see the remains of the shrimp...pretty much in tact...must have been lodged in there...and died of the copper but recent. ..didn't look decomposed or chewed up... that wrasse is mischievous! !! Lol

Hey all... looking to make a big change to my setup... wife doesn't like the sump and ATO tank on the side of my display...not to mention I happen to let slip that I wanted to add a refugium... (My sump is packed as is so I can't use that for refugium) so I have to find a good stand that has room in the bottom to put a sump/refugium and ATO...I know a lot of guys will respond DIY... but remember I'm the guy who took two weeks to grab the right pump fittings from Home Depot and then I poisoned my tank with copper... LOL!
I was hoping used, maybe Craig's list or ebay... don't have the money to do new... anyone know of someone looking to get rid of one... or maybe even a larger setup with tank... (I'll upgrade if I need to... lol)

So I've been skimming Ebay and Craig's list for bigger tank and stand... I've seen some decent deals... 90Gal with stand around 300... my question is most of the tanks I come across don't have an overflow... should I go for it and attempt to drill it myself...?
I figure most of my equipment from my 55 I can use on the 90... even my new lights because they are 48' like most 90's... my Reef Octopus skimmer is rated for 100 gallons I believe... and I have a Mag 9.5 for a return... I can always use the sump I have and add a separate refugium or buy a bigger all in one sump/refug down the road...and have it all stored in the stand...

Do any of you guys drill tanks? What is the going rate for a drill? I just have to make sure from the buyer that the back panel is glass correct?

Found and bid on a 175 with stand... measures 48l x 24d x 29h...so my lights will fit... I have to drill but the stand is open so I can fit a nice 40 gallon sump I'm the stand easily... now just need a driller! Lol

There is a 175gal tank that is a bow front. The length is 72", sane width and height. My guess is its a misprint. And either they are selling the 150gal or it is 175 but it's 6'

No...this one is straight and I had her measure the tank so I would know if my lights would fit... she answered someone else's question and said it's about 8-9 years old... should I bail on it?

Anyone know of a good thread that describes moving from a smaller tank to a bigger one they will be in the same room... just curious to Do's & Don'ts...

Okay... purchased and picked up the tank...
90 Gallon with Overflow, (most of the plumbing, missing bulkheads), stand, hood, Sump (40 Gallon) with 3 sections plumbed for external pump, external eheim 1262 pump, 300watt heater for $250 ... it's covered in Coraline... needs a lot of elbow grease but for the price... i'll do it...

If you have a garage, fill the tank with tap water, check for leaks, add a couple gallons of muratic acid (34%) and a couple PH's. Be careful handling the acid. Keep the area well ventilated.

+1 inspect the tank really good for leaks too, I'm currently having a leaking problem with a tank that I bought used and I did inspected before I set it up.
