New dual diy hydra tv mount

So I decided to add 2 hydras over my tank and went with the TV Mount idea that I improvised to add 2 Hydra 26 lights on aluminum tubing that I painted. Used some aluminum spacers to drop lights off of tubing to make room for fan shrouds. Overall I’m happy with the outcome. What do you think l. Just need to clean up the wiring. The are currently 11” above the waterline.

Very nice dude

I started at 12” but lowered to 11” right now and I will see how that works. Issue with 12” was the leds were visible while I was staring at tank. Now all I see are the cases. Guess if I was a little taller that wouldn’t be an issue. Lol

I rented a par meter and found that about 14 inches above the water gave me the best par throughout the tank and best spread. I guess it all depends on what your tank is since I'm a very mixed reef.

I’ll tell you what these are way more powerful than my 3 Primes. I had to decrease %’s substantially because when I first hooked lights to see how it looked my par went from 160 mid tank with Primes to 306. So ended up lowering percentages and putting into acclimation mode

This is what I run on a 65 with 2 x hydra 32s. This is peak but in the morning it's in the 80s.

I’m running the Pirates of the Caribbean schedule. Currently par is 184. Not even at peak and that’s with acclimation mode at 35% reduction

I never really understood the up and down on the lighting. While I get it mimics clouds and wave etc but I followed what wwc runs in their grow out tanks adjusted to hit the par I need.

Same here but it seems to be working for me. I tried a modified Saxby but wasn’t too fond of it. What size tank are you running yours on
