Welcome to Share and Learn. This is a place where you can share your experiences in the hobby, both good or bad.

What is this forum for?

This is where you can share how you overcame hair algae. How you defeated ich :). You can also tell everyone your experience on using that favorite food of yours. How about sharing that experience with a nasty fish and how you caught her.

So you get the point. This is about you and your experience in the hobby.

What this forum is NOT for.

This is not a Q and A forum. If you have any questions about reefing you still need to use Advanced Reefing or General Discussions. You can ask questions to a posted thread here to get more info, but you cannot start a Q and A thread here.

So fasten your seat belts and let's learn together.

We are excited to see this forum come to life and grow. If you are interested in writing an article or sharing your experiences with different aquarium problems or solutions please let me know!

had a pretty bad hair algae problem . thought i had enough of a cuc . but later found out that they were probably a meal for the snapping shrimp... put shrimp in sump added some more turbo snails and some emerald crabs . Also started chaeto .and gfo , Now there is no more hair algae.....

10% weekly water changes (made from D.I. water of course) is the single most important thing you can do to PREVENT all kinds of nasty algae...the kiss principle. Once algae establishes itself and takes hold it is a lot harder to remove. You can read all kinds of horror stories here about it's removal (myself included on a cyano battle I have going on). That alone is the single most reason people leave this hobby.
