New here.

Hi gang,

Want to introduce myself as I am new to this site but not new to the club. I just got sorta side tracked with real life. ::)
Real name is Gene and my handle on most reef sites is Zhenya and zenya on RC.
I have two tanks, 110g anemone tank and 75 sps dominated reef tank.
Along with my reef hobby I "developed" photography hobby as well and not sure which one is winning at this point.
Anyways, here are my two tanks.First is my 75g tank as it is today.

And my anemone tank, it was started in 98 as my first reef tank but got taken over by these anemones in 2004.

Re: Ne w here.

Welcome back, Gene! Glad to see you on this side of the fence.

The deep color of the anemones in that tank are nothing short of stunning. What is the blue mountain in the bottom right third of the SPS dominated tank?

Now show off those butterflies...

Re: Ne w here.

welcome back Gene. How on earth does that yellow tang sleep at night? Are there any clowns in that tank? It would even better with a bunch of clownfish pairs in there.

Re: Ne w here.

Thanks all! ;D

I guess I haven't set up my notifications correctly, so pardon for late replies. It is a bit different from my site so I need to get used to it here. ;)

It;s been in there since 1998 so I guess he is now a yellow clownfish.
And yes, I do have one mean clownfish in there, the A.clarkii.

Hi Phyllis, the coral you asked about is Echinophyllia sp.. I gre it from a small fragment that I got from OGII in N.Plainfield. It is taking over his "piece of the rock", I guess. ;)
As far as clowns go, I haven't shot any pictures fo them as they freaking out anytime I point camera at them. I will try, though.

Here's a closer look at that coral, after about a year in my tank.(2006)

LOL at the yellow clownfish. Too funny. Probably quite immune by now. Isn't nature amazing.

Great looking enchino, Gene. Thanks for posting the picture of it. Very nice photos, as usual.

Re: Ne w here.

The anemone tank has a clown and a tang. I think the butterflies are in the SPS tank.

Try leaving the camera on a tripod for a couple days. They'll get used to it like that.

Thanks, Mike! I'll give that a go after the weekend is over. My grandkids will be allover that set up if I leave it hanging in front of the tank.
