New Octopus duel powerheads.

I've seen a ton of Identical ones pop up on Ebay lately coming out of China and Japan.

They look just like the one you have a link to.....some have magnetic bases and the smaller ones have suction cups :(

Looks like a total ripoff of the Korlia's and some look a bit like the small Tunze's too.

Here is a pic of the Korlia lookalikes

They are selling these 2 800gph pumps for $29.95 plus $9.95 for shipping (no magnetic bases though)

They even have a wave maker setup.

Runs about $110 with shipping.

I wonder if this is going to be a new trend and if we are going to start seeing affordable knockoffs to some of the higher end wave makers in the future.

Magnet bases are pretty key. I have to get some for my MJs that I have. That is a 20 dollar cost per deal just for the magnets.

It seems whether they have the magnetic base or dont totally depends on the vendor.

Some sets come with just the stupid suction cups and others come with both magnets and cups. (you really have to read the descriptions on each listing)

The wave maker has a magnetic base but doesnt say if you can hook more than one pump to it or not.

Yes, I am sure they are all made in China in one plant, I guess I was thinking that perhaps the Octopus brand would be more reliable.  Plus getting them through PA is a bonus.

the magnetic bases also can be made into great racks after they burn out. but on the bright side, i bet you'll get alot of frag racks outta the cheap knockoff pumps
