New tank slime on plastic tubes

Hello everyone. I have a new tank that I am setting up and added the salt to the RO/DI water yesterday and today the water is still cloudy and I noticed a slimy film on my clear plastic tubing that goes to and from my sump.

I used a bag of instant ocean reef crystal reef salt. The salinity isnt enough so I got some regular instant ocean salt to add to it this morning and noticed the slime.

Any idea what this is? Any steps I should take ?

Thank you! It's my first salt tank so any advice is much appreciated !

Do you mean rodi water, you should mix the salt in a brute can and let it circulate for 24 hours then add it to your tank. I would check your levels cause you used two differant salts.

Sorry I corrected it haha.

There is only one type of salt. I add my system running without salt for awhile to test it out. Once everything was running smoothly and my flows were good I added the instant ocean reef salt. I added it slowly but the bag wasn't enough and it was getting late.

The next day I got the other salt and before I added I noticed that it's still cloudy and then I noticed the slime film on the plastic tubes. I didn't add the other salt because this slime worried me.

Is this really bad? So I need to dump all the water and clean my tubes?

The sump is completely empty right now with a skimmer inside it.

I just set the tank up and was adding the salt into the tank. It has some sand and some rocks but nothing live yet.

The rocks and sand were in there for 5 days with water (no salt) as I was working on fixing flow problems. The water stayed clear until I added the salt.

No refuge yet, was waiting till I added the salt. Also all my lights are off because there is nothing alive in it.

Coating is now enough that I can wipe some off. I was told that it's most likely minerals from the salt mixture.

Any thoughts??
