New to NJ & NJ Reefers!!!

Hi everyone! I am moving to New Jersey next week and I am excited to meet a new group of reefers...

I am moving to Gloucester City in South Jersey & was wondering if anyone can give me a few good recommendations for a LFS in the area. I have a 60 cube tank (mixed) that I am moving with me and it will need some new stock once it gets up and running again. I am a longtime member of michiganreefers.com We held a lot of swaps and we do a pay it forward coral thing.. A really great bunch of guys. I hope NJ is the same!

Anyways, just thought I would pop in and say hi!

Welcome to NJRC. We're glad you found us. I think you'll find we have a pretty solid pay it forward philosophy too. As far as LFS's in S. Jersey, I'll let some of the others chime in. There are a few good ones but I'm not sure where they are in relation to the area you're moving to.

Be sure to check out one of our meetings once you get settled in. We usually draw a big crowd and have a lot fun.

Was your 'Pay it Forward' coral program a formal thing with rules of participation or was that your general philosophy? We have a very pay it forward philosophy that is quite pervasive among the members, but no official 'pay it forward' program. I'd be interested in hearing how it was run (if it was a formal thing).

Hopefully you'll enjoy the group here nearly as much as the Mi reefers.

Our next meeting is just a bit north of you in Bordentown. Hopefully you can swing by (there's a link at the top of the page).

Welcome Cubist!
I think you will find the NJ group to be a great bunch! A very positive and friendly group. Hope you come out and have fun hanging with the crowd!

Welcome to NJ and the club! If i'm not mistaken I "think" we have another Michigan alumni here...Candi.

Good luck with the move and hopefully we'll see you at a meeting soon!

Hmmm.. I did some checking. The name Candi sounded familiar. She actually bought a Maroon clown from me when I tore down my 120! I will have to shoot her a PM! Maybe she is in my neck of the woods!

Thanks! I doubt I will make this meeting. We are moving on the 15th & I'm sure things are going to be ind of hectic for a few days. I will check into the next one. I'll PM you abou the PIF coral idea.

Welcome to NJRC. Hopefully you'll be settled in by our December Holiday Party.
Candi is about an hour and half north-east of you.

As I said in the PM, welcome to the area & the group. A wonderful group of people here always willing to help out in any way possible!
