Pretty sure this will be no big deal to 90 percent. But for those of you who are like me and appreciate any update on one of our systems (good or bad). I am happy to announce that we are now the proud poppa of a tiny bit of coralline algae. Not sure what that means. But to me... I look at it as a good sign. Happy reefing all :)
Nice!

Oh my! It’s beautiful :) . I have been wanting one. I am waiting until the new tank is set up. Best of luck

As promised. I am attaching a photo of the Coral Jax. (Mrs.Sponge) picked up while visiting WWC. It is a Pink Rim Lobo. And seams to be quite happy in her new home as she does not appear to have lost any of her wonderful coloring...

Yup. Mrs Sponge is a keeper. Lol.

That Lobo is gorgeous. She has a good eye. [emoji102]

Grats on the coraline, you're on the way to stability, huzzah!
My new just cleared of the second bout of diatomes, hopefully coraline isn't too far off.
And, nice lobo. Never been a fan of anything that sits on the sand, but I'm guessing that looks pretty spectacular under blues.

Crazy question. Three days ago. My magnesium tested at 1280. Last night. 2 drops and I get color change. Am I correct that Mag can not swing like that and I likely have a contaminated bottle of chemical???

Give it 24 hours and test again. I have had that happen with mag test. One day I tested it and got similar readings. I re tested with the same result. I tested again next day it was fine. I don’t know why.

That’s good to know. I won’t do anything drastic. Thanks David

Super glad i realized the test was to far off. I really could have put the tank in a tailspin if I dosed based on the results. I think it speakers volumes as to knowing your tank. Testing is critical but it’s equally important to realize when things aren’t right.

It is possible it got hot. had an air conditioning problem a couple weeks back and house got real hot. I had to float ice in the tanks I’m not sure how warm the chems can get before they are tainted

YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS
so I have a 40b I am using as a QT. A few weeks back I picked up a fair amount of rock Covered top to bottom in all sorts of algae (it is now algae free... gooooo tuxedo urchin). And assorted corals and anemones. In addition I took one royal grama that I agreed to hold and give to someone else as I already have one.
Fast forward to two days ago and I decide to move one of the rocks with a monti and a Nem on it to the display tank.
I take out the rock and carefully inspect it for Five maybe ten minutes looking for any pests. Take it from the basement and put on a towel on the kitchen table while I proceed to move a few corals in the DT to make room for this rather large rock. After maybe another 5 or 10 minutes I put the rock in the tank and play with it till I get it to sit properly. Fast forward again to today and Mrs Sponge calls and asks when did we get two Gramas. I let her know the other one is going to someone else because if I put them in the same tank they won’t get along. Well riddle me this Batman. HOW THE HECK DOES A FISH HITCHHIKE ON A ROCK.
Apparently don’t ask me to look for pests. If I can’t see a fish on a rock. How am I suppose to find any of the tiny creatures the I’m looking for. I just can’t wrap my head around this one. It seams completely impossible but I swear it happened. And now I have NO idea how I am going to catch it.
