NJ water with 200 TDS

Just moved to Lakewood NJ

TDS coming in to my 1st sediment canister is at about 200 on my TDS meter, dose the make senses?

200 TDS of what?

In Brooklyn it was at about 20, what’s in NJ water, scary!!! Any tips on the matter??

To tell the truth I never tested my TDS. Like @trio91 I don't drink straight from the tap and when I got into saltwater I got the BRS 4stage RO/DI unit with the build in TDS meter (which measure both in and out of the DI chamber) and that has always read 0. Been thinking of ordering a hand held meter just to confirm but its low on my list just because my tank seems to be doing fine.

I'm at 350 in Bergen County, Ridgewood water has deep wells, but nothing like water coming down from the mountains that NY gets. NYC water is exceptional, if you are off of that supply you're lucky, it's rare to have that low a TDS anywhere in the country, none-the-less a major city.

We are in point pleasant and our TDS is around the same. Our sediment filter gets FILTHY though which is kind of annoying.

I am in Union Beach and last time tested, about 4 years ago, was around 120.
