NJRC Calender Picture Thread

I got really busy and had a lapse of memory about my intentions to start this thread.

Calender pricing will be worked out after I speak with the Officers.
Photos will be posted at the following link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/njrccalender/

Please email the originals to njrccalender@yahoo.com and I will post them up for voting.

Deadline for entries is Dec 1st. Voting Deadline will be December 12th.

Guidelines and tips for the calendar:

I would like the pictures to be of high enough quality that I can print at least at 200dpi at 8x10 size. I think that equates to around a 3 or so megapixel camera at it's highest quality or better.

Picture has to be original, submitted by a member.

NO copyrighted stock pics from the internet, ads, magazines or other publications.

Photo Editing:
You can remove any date or time stamps made by the camera but I'd appreciate if you do not change the feel of the original picture too much. I will handle any adjustments that are needed for color, etc.

Highest voted pics will go on the calendar.
If we have any ties, we will vote on them as well or if time doesn't allow I will hold final say.
If you have a question, PM me.

Please use this thread to simply vote by naming which pictures you like. Please list no more than 12.
The top twelve (thirteen If I can do it) will be used.

Mike are we sticking to a specific topic like FTS or can it be any saltwater related, fish, coral, etc

I think I will leave it open and go by the votes. I was going to say no FTS, but then when I look at RC's TOTM Pics I change my mind. So let's just see what people come up with. Also we only have a month for pics so I don't want to be too picky.

Excellent idea! Let me know if you need help printing them. I own a print shop in South Jersey. ;) I also will be happy to help with any design and set up.

i just reread your first post and got my answer---
Deadline for entries is Dec 1st. Voting Deadline will be December 12th.

steve

I was going to try and post them on flickr since it is easier to view once we are ready to vote. I have been taking the emails and just posting them up on this thread for now. I figured it can't hurt to do both.

On a side note, a lot of people are sending low res files. I am assuming that everyone has the large originals. If you don't please pm me and I will have to remove the pics. Thanks.

Some nice pics, come on people give up some more pics. Tomorrow is the deadline(DEC 1).

Being the procrastinator I am and the fact that I can not get to my computer right now, I'll have to send pics tomorrow!

I have received more pictures. I might leave the entry open for another week if everyone doesn't mind not having them by jan 1st. ;D

how about just use those POTM (Photo of the month) images?
it will encourage more people to submit for the monthly context.
for those missing months, we then pick from this list...
thx

As i recall mbodell posted many times asking people who submitted the potm to allow their use in the calendar - but it appears not many people agreed/or sent in a viable copy/image.
