NJRC January 2007 Meeting Recap

Thanks Renee & Family for allowing NJRC to invade your home. It was interesting to see the labrynth downstairs as well as the greenhouse. Very nice system you have going there! Thanks for the acrylic demo, how to and what not to do!

Great to see you all this month. Big welcome to all of our new members as well.

Just getting the thread started! Pics to follow (hopefully all of those who had cameras at the ready will show us what they've got).

Lots of folks turned out at Renee's house, in spite of Mapquests quest to the contrary. While most people managed to get there unscathed, the weary few had extra long treks around Hunterdon County. We started off the day touring the systems, checking out the greenhouse, chatting and feasting.

Next on the tour was the garage. We gathered and watched as Renee and Rich gave tips and pointers on how to create acrylic works of art. There were projects in various stages of completion from frag tanks to sumps to running skimmers.

After that it was a bit of club business and then on to the raffles. There were corals from ReeferMadness and SMCooler as some of the pieces that were raffled. Hopefully once the pieces settle in to their new homes we'll get some pictures! (Hint hint)! Frags from Stan included Yellow/Peach Tip Tort, miscellaneous millies, yellow table red polyps and 2 different formosa. The blue tip is rare, grown from a frag from RM.

Thanks for all that took the drive. It was great to see you all there!

Renee, thanks to you and your family for hosting a great meeting. I really appreciate the way your kids took our kids under their wing and played so well with them. They're a great bunch that you should be proud of! Also, thanks to your husband who was left with a bit of mess after we all ran out of there. I hope you made it through work OK. I'm not sure how you were able to pull that one off.

Your setup is really nice and I love the greenhouse. The basement (or science lab!) is very well done. The frags all look great. You got me thinking about how I can make some changes in my system. I may be hitting you and Rich up for some more detailed instructions on working with acrylic.

Thanks again. It was good meeting all of the new members and seeing the rest of the familiar faces again.

Thanks for a great meeting Re-Knee. Very welcoming beautiful home and family. Remember: Ryobi BT3100 and the accessory kit. It will make your diy life so much easier. And don't forget to change out that...........respirator hose..... over head in the basement. You'll be cleaning up a big mess if you don't. (again)

Renee,

Thanks so much to you and your family for hosting. It was great to find our first meeting so close to home! Your kids made a great welcome committee. :)

Your tank set up is incredible. I'm glad there are pix to show my husband, it was hard to describe it to him!

As a new member, it was really nice to meet so many people. And the frags we got from Ralph and Rich look great. Here's a shot of them all warming up at home. And you get a good idea of why I also got a Reefgadget from Rich while I was at it! ::)

Renee..I want to thank you for your gracious hospitality!!
This was my first meeting ... your warmth and genuine enthusiasm for reefing eased my nervousness. :D
It was trully a pleasure to make so many new friends!!!
I look foward to inviting you all to my home once my tank is set up ;D

OH MY, everyone is so gracious. Wow, you are all welcome.
The party wouldn't have been such a success without all of the generosity of the officers (and volunteers) of NJRC. They deserve all of the thanks, not me.
>>>>>>>>>So, THANK YOU to all of the officers!!!! <<<<<<<<<<
You guys really put so much of your valuable time and effort toward making this club so successful and fun. Regretfully, however, your efforts are too often taken for granted. We members need to say to to ourselves and eachother "PEOPLE, LETS ALL STEP UP AND HELP OUT!" Right??? Cuz our club ROCKS!
In addition, it is really nice that you include and welcome our families, too. What is most impressive is how all of the children of our club are trustworthy and polite, respecting each other so genuinely. YOU KIDS ARE THE BOMB!!!
So, to all the officers, kids and club members... Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One more thing. All of the food and drink was so wonderful as well, thank you for bringing it all. You had Phyl sweatin'. I have sooooo much leftover, my family will eat like kings for days. KUDOS TO PHYL!!!

RENEE

Rich your usually da bomb but Renee and family stole your thunder this meeting. thanks for opening your home to us, I had great time as usual. It was good to see some old faces and so many new ones.
