Noobs from SJ

Dan, Banggai Cardinals are pretty peaceful fish - it should get along fine with clowns but I believe it is a schooling fish so it will need one or two of its other friends to be happy.
Question to the members about the banggai's... Are they anything like Pajami cardinals? Cause i had 3 in my 35 gallon that housed my bi-color blenny and they were boring, dull fish. Just saw around aimlessly. No personality or energy shown like the blenny, our damsels or my old chromis.

Members, is it ok to ask questions like this about livestock or should we create a separate thread with such questions?

you'll get more views if you start a new thread. For example - you could start a thread in the Fish/FOWLR forum asking "fish for my 55 gallon tank?"

Or something like that.

A great book btw on fish identification is Rob Fenner's Conscientious Marine Aquarist.

Anyways - I didn't know baggai's are endangered - they are mouth brooders and it's be said that some folks have bred them in aquariums.

Definitely agree with John that whenever possible, try and purchase captive bred fish.

btw - are you using a Quarantine tank before introducing the fish to the display? A small 10 gallon would be fine for the fish you're thinking of.

Welcome, I'm a noob too, and I have learned a lot by being a member here. I wish I lived in South Jersey, not many people up in Northern New Jersey.

Ok- We will look into making a thread when the time for more fish comes.
We will try to buy captive bred fish as much as possible - going to keep an eye out for that at our LFS's.
Yes we will be using a 35 gal hex tank as a QT tank. Know thats kind of overkill for a QT but I have that tank sitting around not being used and dont want to spend money on a smaller tank for a QT setup.
