Your average ro cartridge should last you a lifetime if properly maintained. The others like the sediment, gac, carbon block, & DI should give you atleast 6 months before needing to be replaced. (More or less)
The only thing I would do with a buddie unit would be to install : a pressure guage, and a flush kit. Aside from that they are just as good as a normal unit. @Mark Shelly
