Dropped into Major League Exotics today in chameleon research, they've got a newly arrived octo.
Was cool to see. Hopefully they'll not only price him/her out, but will be wary of selling to an amateur (man, I still wouldn't be comfortable with one).

I think the worst drawback is their short life-expectancy. Two years is probably a lot for the more readily available species. That's a shame considering they're one of the most intelligent invertebrates available to us.

They are cool and like to play with your hand. Worked on a pacific one in adventure aquarium in Camden when I volunteered there. Amazing animal.
