Oh no he didn't, oh yes he did 180 gal build

Can you connect the tower with the adjacent piece? You could then keep the height, add an overpass for fish and tie it in.

possibly but I was trying to avoid having all 3 connected. I think I'm going to go with an island and cut it down a bit

Another option would be to have a piece resting on sand floor in front of the left side of center arch and move across to bottom of left column. The is would give an illusion of tying pieces together on front view, yet at other angles show they are separate. This would add dimension and depth to the scape. If you add corals it would further enhance it.

I'm having trouble picturing that. the only coral id consider doing are zoas to let them grow wild. and add colors

Well got the manifold built and all connected. Once my RO is finished being made I'll test all of it for leaks :x.

Thanks to Steve 9supra for all his help!

All that is left to do is:

1. finish making RO
2. check plumbing for leaks
3. get all equipment connected/wired
4. add salt
5. cycle

Thanks Ed,

I designed it and did the dry fitting, Steve did the final assembly and we worked together to make it proper.

Im about to start the task of getting everything else online now.

So you do leak test with RO and then add the scape? I'm trying to figure out best approach...

No I find it is best to scape then add sand then add RO water and leak test.

The scape doesn't effect any leaks really since it would be isolated to the return or drain plumbings.

Also in my experience I prefer scaping when the rock is dry and the tank has no water because it is easier.

Speaking of leak tests, the plumbing passed! Still making RO to fill my 40 breeder, but that can wait.

Display is 180g + 75g (1/2 full) sump + 40g breeder fuge :X

Thanks....makes sense, I will take that approach...

I assume no live rock at the initial start up?

no live rock, I used all dry rock. I prefer not to have any pests or anything potentially nasty from live rock.

I need to finish making up water to get my fuge filled then I can turn everything on and begin my cycle :).

I also need to connect the reactors, but I figure they'll be the last thing I do.

Sorry to hear that hope she is home and you are pampering her like a good son should.

She is home and resting, I am exhausted. I never realized how tiring laundry, walking the dogs, and cleaning/cooking could be, plus taking care of her. Fortunately I work close to home so I come on my lunch breaks, but oyy.

She'll be in a cast for 2/3 months and no weight on her foot. Then physical therapy for who knows how long. At least she'll recover, but just going to take time.

Sorry to hear about your mom. She seemed like I nice lady when I met her at your place. At least she will have a tank to look at while she recovers.
