Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
They are all of the peaceful nature and all different coloration and some different families. I have had them probably for a week now and notice no aggression from any of them together. The mel is the largest of the bunch and was in the tank first, he was who i was worried about, but besides some minor flashing nothing crazy.
Funny thing is when I feed if food hits the bottom the mel will pick it up and kind of toss it in the flow for the other fish to eat!
By far my two favorites are the yellow patch and the orange back
This is my livestock list for my tank of what I hope to have living in my tank once it matures more .

I would really like to have a diverse amount of fish and would appreciate some recommendations for smaller fish as I am uncertain of what relatively small/peaceful fish I can include.
I stopped by Diamonds of the Reef today a nice fish store located in Brooklyn, NY. Diamonds of the Reef has multiple tanks with a wide selection of healthy fish! Brian the owner is a nice guy with an even nicer store.
I snapped a few pictures of the store to show my cousin since it was my first time there, but there will be definitely be more trips the in the future.
Coral tanks - 3 tier system mixed with zoas, chalices, sps, and more. The system is still maturing, but should be pretty sweet once it is fully stocked.
Row of Tanks 1 - multiple tanks all filled with gorgeous and healthy fish.
Row of Tanks 2 -
The reason for my visit was to pick up a flame angel, well Brian was kind enough to also have some anthias and a potter's angel that caught my eye. I ended up leaving with 4 Bartlett's Anthias, a flame angel, and a potter's angel.
After the hour and 15 min drive home and 30 mins of temperature acclimating them I then drip acclimated them. I am happy to announce the fish are now in my display and all seem happy.
There are some photos below of the fish that Brian had posted in his thread. These are of the fish, but I suck at taking photos and well they show the true beauty of them. I will snap a video in a few days once they are fully adjusted.
Well I was going to hold off buying a generator, but I figured it would be better to have one than not to have one. I picked up one today for a steal, it should be able to power my tanks + fridge no problem.
Nice! 6000 watts, you could run your entire house. I have a 3650 watt and I ran it 24/7 during Sandy and powered my boiler, refrigerator, television, entire tank, and a few lights.
You’re not done spending money. That middle plug I think is a 30 three prong circular outlet. You most likely don’t have an adaptor, so go buy one now. I waited until Sandy and was lucky to buy the last one at my local Home Depot. Here is the “contractors” version I bought:
And HERE is one that’s a little less expensive that will do the trick.
I would also suggest purchasing 12 gauge extension cords. The first one cost me over $100….I purchased a second one from Harbor Freight for somewhere in the $70 range.
Paul can't I just use the 2 outlets on the left? and not worry about the middle one?
I plan on picking up a 50ft 12 gauge, should be plenty of length to run from my yard to the tank plug. The plan is for this to power only my tank + fridge + maybe a light or so if needed. KNOCK ON WOOD, but the only time we've lost power for more than a day was during Sandy and it was restored after 3 or so days.
I picked the generator up for a whopping $328 after tax brand new so I'm not complaining.
Added an African Exquisite Wrasse Super Male and Yellow watchman goby today from Clown Aquatics. The African Exquisite Wrasse Super Male is AWESOME!, the yellow watchman goby disappeared in my 180 lol.
I will try to snap a video tomorrow, but so far no aggression among all the wrasses and it is already eating no problems.
Well just went to go feed the tank and found my Carpenter's wrasse sitting on top of my netting cover. It is crazy because the fish should not have been able to fit through the holes. It was probably out of the water for an hour or two since I checked the tank prior.
