Online vendors vs lfs for a stock tank order?

Hi, so for the 120g nuvo tank I want to order! would you go with BRS, marine depot, or is there a lfs that would benefit from ordering this in? Of course I still need it delivered in Philly. Thx!

Check out Hidden Reef....their prices on dry goods (including tanks), is very reasonable. Not sure what their deal is on delivery. You'll need to talk to them about that.

Well this is a direct ship from vendor no matter who you order it from I think. So I guess it'd just be who is getting retail commission from the sale. MD I spoke to days ago about shipping and still they haven't called me back. I think I might go with BRS if not a local vendor.

If prices are close(within 5%) or equal, I'd go with an LFS just to support them. The online retailers don't need the help and an LFS will be there in an emergency. Marine Depot or BRS isn't gonna be able to help you if you're tank springs a leak or your RO/DI falls off the wall and breaks.

I agree completely with that ... also they often can help with setup.

They have it at Hidden Reef, do not deliver and suggest FOUR people to move it for safety given its cost. Tank and stand are wrapped together and nearly 600 lbs total. They will load it in a truck, then it's off we go. :/ even with Dave's help still would need more hands maybe from what they've said. Bah, we need teleportation. :p

Oh man, stand and tank wrapped together? Yikes. Definitely gonna need those dollies. I hope you don't have to move over any carpet, lol. Make sure to pick up some moving blankets for extra cushioning and to help with sliding it off the truck.

No carpet, I hadn't thought how that would be, even worse! Already bad ! Why did Mfg wrap together? Odd and really bad for receivers!

I think good for transport. As soon as it gets to your house, cut off all the packaging and bring in the two pieces.

Thought about that, but worried maybe it's not cushioned or well stabilized after messing with the packaging. I wonder if there is a way to speak with the mfg directly.

Couple dollies (make sure one has red hair and blue eyes) and a couple moving blankets and you will be fine. As long as you have a couple fellows to help that have weak minds and string backs :D
