Opinions for a new heater

I have a won bros titanium with a digital controller set at 79. This morning i went in to basement and my controller was still set at 79, but the water temp display was at 92!!! Of course I cursed up a storm but then i checked with a lifeguard digi-temp that i have and it was only 80. phew. Long story short i messed wit it but i guess the sensor is messed up so the whole thing is now in the garbage. So now i have 3-75w visitherms in there luckily i had them, why i had 3 i have no clue. My ? is what is a good choice for a heater. i looked at the new jbj 300 watt digitals, accuracy to .5 of a degree. but i dont know if i want all my eggs in 1 basket. I was thinkin of 3 smaller- 100 watt of somethin. This way if 1 stuck on it would take a while to fry the tank and hopefully i would catch it, or if one crapped out the other 2 would prob keep up till i noticed. Is there any controller i can hook up to a heater as a back up, So if the heater ever stuck on and went past the set temp on the controller it would shut it down? Im not familiar with controllers at all so i dont know if this is possible.

Thanks
nick

Yea that is what a controller (acjr, etc.) is for.Among other things like lights. You can use a Rancho controller also.I'd use two 150w heaters.

also I've used ebo jager heaters for years with no problems.

What do you do with the controller? set the temp on heater and plug into the controller, then the controller will cut the power if the temp goes too high?

you set a temp range on the controller.say 77.5-79 and set the heater for like 80 and the controller will turn the heater on at 77.5 and off at 79.

Got ya. So if the controller fails the heater will go off at 80. That a good fail safe. Whats a good cheaper controller. I just dont think i need anything crazy. Just said yesterday i have to stop spending on the tank. Typical
