opinions on creating a dedicated "skimmer" tank

i have limited space [10 x 12 x 16] which my goal would a NAC6A bubble magus [Dimensions: 6.7" x 10.4" x 19.6" (L*W*H)] (the performance and reviews have been amazing) BUT my sump was made for my previous biocube 29 so the skimmer section is EXTREMELY LIMITING my choices.  i thought about creating an extra side tank so that i can add the skimmer and attach it to my sump that is currently active.

the main question is.....

b:  have it made by a vendor to make it less of a hassle for myself but that would drive up the cost which makes no sense.

c: just get a 29gallon tank and create baffles. sell the other sump?
