Ouch! Heat!

I spent the day outdoors today cleaning up the backyard. I came in 30 minutes ago, never thinking about the heat, and I found the tank at 83.3 degrees. Immediately turned on the air, but that thermal mass will easily take overnight to get back down to temperature. Need to pay closer attention to this early heat wave we're having.

Try cooling it in the sump with ziplock bags of ice or bottles of cold water to help it along

Yeah. It creeps up on you. I keep my ac on at around 76/78 during the day during the summer because of the dog. I try to hold of as long as possible. Usually my Duncan colony is my indicator that's it either time to get a sump fan going or crank the ac. As soon as my tanks gets to 80 a few days in a row, the colony closes up. I can set my watch by it.

Thank god for my apex. Fan kicks on at 78.5 things have been stable so far even without the ac going

Uhmmmmm, I live with three women. Who needs a tank! A/C is on.

What's "women" have to do with it. My A/c has been in for 3 weeks set to 69*. Won't go off till September at the earliest. And that's for me, my tank stays nicely at 75* with the basement sump.

LOL.. My wife is "cool bodied". in the summer she can deal with the 80s without ac while i like 75 and in the winter the heat is blasting and she sleeps in sweatpnats and a hoody!. Reefers nightmare.

My house is 69* year round and it's not for me...lol. I sleep in sweatpants in the summer. But the tanks stay at 77 easily.
