Me, the wife, & our friend headed over to the Long Island Aquarium(Atlantis) on Saturday morning. What a neat place this was! We started out on the wooden bridge with the sting rays & sharks below us. I had my sunglasses on the top of my hat & when I looked down it went swimming with the fishes! It was a fantastic way to start our trip!
Thanks to Edward, we were able to meet up with Joe, one of the co-founders of the aquarium. He was able to find time between his busy schedule to give us a little behind the scenes tour! Joe brought us above the 20,000gallon beautiful reef tank. It was so incredibly amazing. They've been recently growing frags out. He said their electric bill for the previous month was $80k!!! He also showed us another area where they are breeding fish & more propagation. The name of the fish has slipped my mind, but it's one of the first captively bred in the whole world.
Overall, it's a great aquarium. We all had a blast & were very thankful to Joe for taking the time out of his busy schedule to show us around!
