Overcrowded-Advice!

OK, I started out with the easy, basic softy's and mushrooms and things are going fine,
actually a bit out of controll. I really want to turn the tank more towards zoos now and a few nicer pieaces. Main problem is that there is no unused areas left.
Starting up a new tank is just not a option, possible option is to plumb into the current system a second frag/holding tank so I can re-auqua scape the main tank, that would be affordable. I may have to start with new rock, the established rock has growth, example 6 different types of mushrooms even on the undersides.
The frags that I want to keep are about ready, I have plenty to choose from, the 12 gal frag tank has, I just counted, 91 frags and 11 mother colony's. The 29 that I want to redo has 96 frags, 19 mother colony's and at least 200+ Mushrooms. And of course the sponges, small dusters, polyps etc. Any advice!!! This is a bit overwhelming at this point. I just took two pics, any way I haven't shown off the tanks for awhile!

That's one of those good problems to have Greg!

I solved it by upgrading, but I understand that's not an option at this point.

When faced with that problem in my softie tank I decided to get rid of the kenya trees as I also had anthellia and re-aquascape. create some gaps between the bigger pieces and fill those in with zoas. I can't view your pictures right now, the hosting site is blocked where I am right now. But if you have a lot of similar mushrooms, I'd find other reef homes for them and use it for the zoas.

You gotta see the pics to see what I'm gonna deal with, the shrooms, I am thinking about culling a bunch out and setting them up as frags, but under each larger shroom are a bunch of little guys waiting to grow out.
As a kicker, about 3 weeks ago I did a re aqua scaping, took couple hours, buckets of water holding stock, when I got done it looked the same!!! uuuggg!

Been there done that!

Now I understand the comment about starting with new rock. Sell some mushroom colonies and get some new rock.

If cost is an issue, buy a 10g tank from petco for like 10 bucks and slap on some pc lights. If you are only doing shrooms and softies in that tank, you don't need strong lighting. Just hook that tank up to the main system and viola, you have a new frag tank.

That's what I'm tending towards, but more of a shallow 20 or 30 gal, i have the PC lights and stand. The fraging started just to cull the tank some, now I may have to go to FA (Fragers Anonymous)! And as per a tank, Bovbaitboxs has like 200 tanks sitting around, no problem.
adesimone1, Thanks I will keep that in mind.

is it an option to transfer both tanks into a 40 breeder? i know you dont want to upgrade but IMO it wouldnt be much of one but still would offer some more room.

I am dying to get ahold of a leather like the one in the middle of your main 29 tank. What is that and do you have a frag for sale or are you selling the mother? I have to get lighting for my new tank so if you don't mind, what lighting are you using on your tanks? Thanks guy.
