Paint

Looking to sray paint the back of my tank black when I move it this weekend. So that you don't see whats behind the glass. Is there a special type of paint? Or other color suggestions.

I used a rustoleum paint (flat black). The kind that you roll on, not spraypaint.

I took about 4 coats but came out great.

I use the black foil (? mylar, maybe) backing they sell at our LFS. IMO, it looks good and is only taped on. That way I can always take it off if I need to.

Just throwing out another alternative . . . .

That's probably better than the foil I used. Less chance of wrinkles/waves and may show a little more depth. I'll have to keep that in mind for the future.
 
I used the black mylar sheet as well, one side is black the other side is blue. A MIRROR, never thought of that but after 20 years, I don't think Iwant to see whats going on in the back of my tank!!! LOL!!!
