Painting acrylic?

I have 2 pieces cut and ready to cover my overflows they are clear I was wondering if I could spray paint them black to keep the light out if I can what paint is safe if they end up in my tank for some reason
Thanks in advance

Yes they can be painted. I've seen and read about krylon fusion being used to pain baffles many times for in sump use.

I made an acrylic cover for my Glass-Holes overflow and used the 98 cent spray paint from Home Depot. That was in 2009. Here it is today still looking brand new. Lightly sand the acrylic before you paint and you'll be just fine.
